If Katie could have run down the aisle to say “I do!” I think she would have gone for it. There is so much love between Ervin & Katie and everyone can both see and feel it. The wedding day was absolutely perfect, but I do not think it would have mattered if a hurricane came through…these two were just thrilled to finally be getting married. I couldn’t help but get teary-eyed when Katie could not contain her excitement after the vows were exchanged and they both walked back down the aisle. I have had the pleasure of working with Ervin & Katie on both the engagement & bridal session. This is such a great way for us to get to know each other by the time the big day arrives.
Ervin is really big into hunting, so he and his groomsmen brought along their guns for some fun pictures. And fun pictures they were! My awesome second photographer Leslie was having a ball working with the guys on all of this :)
Thank you so much Ervin & Katie for allowing us to share your special day with you and your family & friends. You two have many wonderful years ahead of you. And to Leslie, thank you so much for your hard work and big smiles on the wedding day…I truly have enjoyed having you as my second photographer.

Matt & Ashley’s engagement session was truly a marathon e-session. We spent the entire day and some of the night together capturing super fun pictures to celebrate their new engagement. The session was over a year ago and boy does time fly!! Then as the wedding day got closer we set a time for Ashley’s bridal shoot. Before we knew it the big day was here and what a beautiful wedding it was! A funny moment I wanted to mention happened as I walked out of the bridal suite and right in front of me was Matt – or so I thought. I quickly said “Oh my gosh, you need to go down the hallway!!” I was afraid he had seen Ashley before the ceremony. Well it wasn’t Matt, it was his twin brother. HA :)

After the ceremony everyone headed over to the Upcountry History Museum downtown Greenville. What a beautiful venue for such an occasion! Congratulations Matt & Ashley, I am so thrilled for the both of you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a special day. Also, a big thank you to my second photographer Leslie!

It was said by Mike Van Gieson that his wife Dana “Started planning Katie’s wedding the day she was born. And it is a good thing it was a girl or a Jake or Sam would be wearing that dress!”. That just shows the amount of time, emotion, passion and desire that was put into this wedding for Chris & Katie and every detail was perfectly displayed. It was extremely important to Katie that a lot of thought went into the guests and their enjoyment as well as making sure it was a perfect day for her and Chris. Katie wanted an all black & white wedding, yet splashes of color for the reception. The color at the reception meant that the party had started! Each table beautifully displayed it’s own colorful cake and the head table had several lining the two rows of seating. The grooms cake, a replica of Clemson’s Death Valley was incredible and was certainly a conversation piece. Katie’s great great grandfather attended Clemson in 1898 and taught the family to love both the school and boiled peanuts :) Chris is also a graduate of Clemson.

When the DJ announced the newly wed couple at the reception, Chris bowed as Katie approached him and his smile went ear to ear! Once dinner was complete, the rest of the evening was filled with energizing music, dancing, laughing and fun. Vinnie the DJ and his dancers had the guests on the floor all night long while playing a perfect mix of songs.

The entire wedding weekend went just as Dana and Katie had dreamed it would be and I was thrilled to be a part of it. Dana told me that I am considered as part of the family and that warms my heart. Everyone has been so awesome to work with and I look forward to the day I get to do so again. Thank you Chris & Katie for allowing me to be a part of your very special day, congratulations to you both! Also a big big thank you to Abbie & Leslie for all your hard and creative work!!

The first thing that comes to mind as I begin this post is how much Dale & Lauren love each other. Their connection, obvious friendship, shared laughter and abundant love was so beautiful to witness. Photography is something that is very important to the both of them and we discussed this in length at our consultation in Atlanta last year. It was my mission to provide them with a beautiful lasting memory of both their engagement session and wedding day. Dale & Lauren met in Italy and I was excited to share similar experiences with them as I was recently in Italy for a photography workshop and soon heading there again. When Lauren asked me to design her wedding invitations, we discussed that an Italian influence was something she desired. It has been so fun getting to know this amazing couple and I was honored to be a part of documenting their love through the camera lens.
The day was extremely hot, but it did not keep everyone from having fun. The entire wedding party had a great time despite being hot in tuxedos and dresses. A stop at the Coca Cola wall made for some amazing images and gave so much variety to the collection of wedding day photos. The day went perfectly!! All the very best to you Dale & Lauren. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. A special thanks to Abbie Carter for all her help and hard work.

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m even more bummed now that we couldn’t make it, but just thankful that we could share in your joy virtually at least. Matt and I are so thrilled for you both and very grateful to have you as friends. You two are too cute for words!

Adam & Amanda met in July of 2004 through a mutual friend and on June 5, 2010 they exchanged their vows. It is such a wonderful feeling getting to know ‘my couples’ through the consultation, engagement session, bridal session and then the wedding day. I feel as though I have made friends along the way and it is awesome to see their excitement throughout the process. Amanda had a beautiful calm about her the day of the wedding because this was the day she has been looking forward to for some time and it was great seeing all her hard work come together through each and every little detail. Adam was just grinning ear to ear and could not wait to see his bride walk down the aisle!

They had bright red & white antique Bel Air for after the ceremony and reception and it was a beauty. The great thing is that they had it at the church and reception venue, so we were able to use it for some awesome pictures. Just before Adam & Amanda made their exit after the reception, Amanda’s dad mentioned that he was going to act like he needed jumper cables to start it. He waited until they got in the car and then while everyone was waving bye, Amanda’s dad stood up and said “anyone have a set of jumper cables?”. The reaction was priceless!! Of course he said he was kidding and then off they drove. Thank you so much Adam & Amanda for allowing me to be a part of your lives over the last several months. It is truly an honor. Your wedding day was absolutely beautiful. Thank you to Leslie for all your help on the wedding day.

Please enjoy a handful of images and the slideshow. The slideshow will take a moment to load and will vary based on speed of internet connection. A few of Amanda’s bridal pictures have been shared as well. It is hard to believe that nearly a full year has gone by since Parker & Kelly’s engagement session, my gosh time flies! I would bet that it felt like an eternity to Parker & Kelly because they were SO excited to be married. Well the time finally came on May 15th, 2010 and the wedding was nothing less than spectacular. So much thought, passion and energy went into the planning of their big event and it definitely showed. I have been waiting oh so patiently (or impatiently :) ) to post Kelly’s bridal photos. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress and the bridal session was so much fun. I will post her photos in a blog entry just after this one.

When we arrived at the Hyatt downtown mouths dropped and there were even a few gasps. The decor in the ballroom was elegant, fashionable, colorful, full of detail and just pure eye candy! After the wedding party was announced, the first dance was enjoyed, food was savored and the cake was cut…it was time to dance. And dance they did! Friends and family were all having so much fun that I couldn’t help but smile throughout the night.

Thank you Parker & Kelly for allowing me to be a part of this last year with you, all the way from the engagement shoot, bridal session and then the wedding. The love between you two is a beautiful thing to see, all the best to you both.

Below are a handful of images highlighting the day and a slideshow to follow. To view and order pictures from this event, please click here and search for Parker & Kelly’s gallery.

In my previous post I shared a handful of images and a slideshow of Brian & Jane’s wedding day in New Orleans. The rehearsal dinner is a very important part of the weekend and the images captured of that day help to tell the story of Brian & Jane’s wedding. I checked into the Royal Sonesta Hotel, looked around a bit and then met everyone in the lobby. We walked a few blocks to Jackson Square where the ceremony took place. It was great seeing all the different buildings and feeling the history of the French Quarter. As you enter Jackson Square, the Andrew Jackson statue dominates the middle of the park with the St. Louis Cathedral as the backdrop…really amazing. From there everyone made their way to NOLA; a restaurant that Chef Emeril Lagasse opened in the French Quarter in 1992. After taking several photos and getting the slideshow up and ready to view, we sat down to enjoy an amazing dinner with everyone. Thank you again Kenny Kim for working with me on this incredible wedding!

Brian and Jane met December 8th, 2007 at a Starbucks in Denver, Colorado. Since the 8th is when they met, they decided to get married on that day. Brian & Jane dated for two years, decided that they were perfect for each other and it was time to plan the wedding day. Jane’s sister, Jennifer, who was the maid of honor, is pregnant with twins and due in July and it is a bit risky to fly this far along in her pregnancy. So, the planning began to have the wedding in New Orleans where Jennifer and her husband live. In addition to working around Jane’s sister, they realized it would be a fabulous place to get married!!

Jane had a last minute change in her wedding planner which added some stress, but when she found Kelly Sherlock to take things over Jane realized this was meant to be. Kelly did a beautiful job pulling everything together and did not miss one detail. In March of this year, I flew to Denver, Colorado where Brian & Jane live to do their engagement session which was posted in the blog earlier. We had a blast and allowed us to spend some time together before the big day.

I arrived in New Orleans on Friday so that I could be there for the rehearsal dinner which was at NOLA’s restaurant on St. Louis Street. Wonderful food and a great evening with their friends and family. A separate blog post will be made for the rehearsal dinner. The wedding was in beautiful Jackson Square with the reception at The Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street. After the ceremony was complete, everyone headed to the street to get ready for the Second Line procession which was so full of energy that I got chills!! The procession led everyone from Jackson Square to The Royal Sonesta Hotel.

Thank you Brian & Jane for allowing me to be a part of this very important day, it truly is an honor! The entire wedding weekend was simply amazing. A big thank you to Kenny Kim for all your help :) Below are a handful of images and the slideshow.

What a way to kick off the wedding season for 2010! Stephen & Brooke’s wedding was absolutely perfect and the day carried on brilliantly without any major stresses or worries. Brooke was so calm and had a beautiful glow about her that everyone noticed. I have been wanting to share Brooke’s pictures from her bridal session, but needed to wait patiently until the wedding day. So, I will be posting a few here along with the wedding day images and slideshow.

I am always very respectful of the varying policies of each church when it comes to photography and I must say I was a bit worried when I was told that there was no photography allowed while the ceremony was being held. However, I could shoot through the beveled glass on the doors. This is the time to improvise and get very creative. Well, much to my surprise the ceremony shots turned out beautifully as the beveled glass created some stunning effects.

Congratulations Stephen & Brooke! I am honored to be a part of your special day. A big thank you to my second photographer, Allison Elizabeth. Slideshow is below posted images (please note, Firefox browser doesn’t always work with the slideshow).

One good thing about having an engagement session at Clemson just a few days before Christmas is that we were able to have the campus all to ourselves. The morning started out rather chilly, but we started moving fast to get the blood flowing. Adam & Amanda showed up with Monster Energy drinks in hand and big smiles. Our first stop was the stadium. I was NOT used to seeing the stadium without all those orange chairs, but being that the football season is now over the chairs have been put away. The sun was both challenging and fun to work as it stayed at an angle most of the time we were out shooting. A couple of times I was bound and determined to shoot into the sun and saw blue dots for awhile!
Adam & Amanda are such an amazing couple with super fun energy. I found them laughing, sharing stories and sneaking a few kisses in between our shots. You may notice that there are several photos of the two of them on the ACC initials in the stadium. That is because after they get married their initials will be ACC, so we had fun playing with that a bit.
After shooting at Clemson we headed to Adam & Amanda’s new home to meet up with their sweet dogs, Scoobie & Banjo. My favorite photo is of Amanda howling with one of them while Adam and the other are watching and smiling. The day was so much fun and I cannot wait to see Amanda again for her bridal session. Enjoy the slideshow just below the posted images.
