Merry Christmas everyone. The holidays are a special time of the year and they hold so many different meanings for all of us, but the one common thing we all share is the love for our families and friends….a time to get together and celebrate. Another year has come and gone so very fast and what an amazing year it has been with so much to be thankful for. My children, who keep me running around like crazy, smiling, laughing, saying “you have one more warning…” and most importantly, wanting to be a better person with each passing day. My family that supports me and loves me on my good, bad and crazy days. My friends that still ask me to get together even though this last year I have not been the best at making time to get together due to crazy schedules, but I promise to do much better because I really do need all of you. My clients…without all of you, my job as a photographer would not be possible. Honestly, I adore my clients SO much that I really consider all to be friends
THANK YOU to each and every one!!
Today has been so much fun. I am a bit sleep deprived, full of great food, and finding myself hearing “you’ll shoot your eye out…you’ll shoot your eye out..” in my head as we have all watched “A Christmas Story” about 8 times, but so happy to spend the day with my family.
I am looking forward to 2010, my mind is buzzing with ideas for Lisa Carpenter Photography. I am looking forward to meeting many new clients and seeing familiar faces as well. All the best to you and yours.

You may notice a few things not working correctly on the blog at the moment such as the tabs located at the top of the page. Bear with me as my designer works to resolve the issues. I hope to have all resolved here shortly.
Thank you!

You may recognize the beautiful face in these photos because I have had previous sessions with my client turned friend, Stacy. What you may also notice is that Stacy has topped the previous sessions each and every time as she becomes more and more comfortable in front of the camera. To add variety to the galleries of photos, Stacy decided to go for an edgier look with straight hair and a smokey eye. I must say that she looked stunning! We met at very early on a Sunday morning to avoid the crowds and to take advantage of the warm colors of the rising sun. Facing the sun and a little extra eye makeup created a frustrating yet comical situation of watering eyes. So every 3rd or 4th frame we had to take a quick break to allow the eyes to stop tearing, which gave us all time to laugh and have a fun morning. Nothing like having the photographer say “come on, dry the eyes as the light is changing fast!”. But again, that just meant more laughs for all of us.
The clothing worn in this shoot will be a part of the Expressions Fashion Show in October. If you haven’t been to one of these shows yet, you must try and make the one in October!

All the very best to you Stacy on your modeling journey!

The architecture in downtown Greenville provides such an amazing natural ’studio’ for a variety of sessions. The fun part is discovering new locations and finding new ways to shoot some often visited ones. My problem is that I often stand in the streets and forget that I am there when shooting to only find a car waiting on me to move! Jena was so much fun to work with and was up to hiking all over the area in search of the next shooting spot. I love how we ended up with Vogue-like images to those that have an earthy feel to them. Here are a handful that I would like to share.

Thank you for stopping by. I have so much that I need to get posted on the blog and will be adding a good bit to get caught up!

This beautiful country setting was perfect for Kaylin’s shoot. When I arrived, I noticed that we would be able to get a variety of looks just in this one location. The property belongs to some friends of mine and they were so generous to allow us to use it for our session, and is very much appreciated. We had a good time despite the crazy heat and bees
I wanted to share a handful of images from the session as well as the slideshow.

You were so much fun to work with Kaylin!
Thank you for stopping by.

What an honor to have Lindsey Hager of Nashville back for a second round of photos! Like most artists, Lindsey is moving toward defining her style and this process is one that evolves and grows. So, for this session, we added a little more ‘rock’ into the look and I must say she was amazing yet once again. It was very difficult to narrow down my favorites and so I just decided to post a handful and then add the slideshow.
Lindsey, it has been SO fun working with you and getting to know you along the way!
The slideshow is posted below photos.

Be sure to check out Lindsey’s site, she is truly amazing!

I was sitting in Barnes & Noble drinking a latte and trying to satisfy my ‘glossy fix’…in other words, my magazine addiction. I am now trying to enjoy them in the store and not buy so many because it does add up when you buy them here and there. Ever since I can remember, maybe the 4th grade, I have LOVED magazines. I have so much fun looking at the photography and the styles and even reading a fun article. I picked up the newest issue of Vogue and I read through it for over an hour and still wanted to buy it. So much for my latest idea right? What I loved about it was that it celebrated women of all ages, which they do every year, but this time it was so well done. Maybe I am just still on a high from the Olympic Trials where Dara Torres, age 41, just rocketed her way through the water! I was jumping up and down when she broke her own 50 meter freestyle record. Plus she just looks amazing and is wearing her age very well.

So back to Vogue, there were photographs of women all ages, yet all of them were beautiful in their own way. Check out this video.
I wish I could photograph every woman and capture what is unique and beautiful to her and start my own magazine, that would be SO COOL!!! What is even more cool is that women would realize that confidence is the greatest accessory!!
Have an awesome day.

When I first saw my client’s son I thought “WOW, what beautiful red hair, bright blue eyes and perfect skin!”. Then I took him on a little fun walk to get to know him and play while we took pictures and then I thought “What an amazing little boy with a big and fun personality!”. We walked for a good bit and then stumbled across some rustic scenery that was fitting for a pair of overalls. I wanted to share a handful of them.

Thanks for stopping by!
