Ok, you are probably wondering what that post title is all about.  Well, I recently had a client that wanted to order some additional portraits from a session I did earlier in the summer of 2006.  This was when I was still in South Carolina and was doing both studio and on-location shoots.  After our move to Denver, I had decided that since many clients asked for location shoots, that I would just do that type of work.  HOWEVER, I am really getting the itch to do studio again after seeing these images.  Am I being fickle?  Uhm, not really :)   I think I just love all types of photography and allowing for variety.  Yes, working on-location can allow me to be very creative and have a good bit variety from session to session.  But, studio has its own lure…and I think I have been LURED back in.

So, what do you think?  I would love to hear from clients about whether I should get back in the studio as well.  Here are just a few of this very beautiful session.

There still is a beauty in it!  Now, just remind me that I said that when I am complaining.  Here is an image to explain what I mean.

Also, I am working on putting together some ‘virtual wall gallery photos’.  This is basically a way for clients to visualize how portraits will look when they are framed and put together in a collection.  I am even a little challenged on how to arrange them, and this way you can ’see’ how it will look!

thank you!

Ever since I have gone to online slideshows for proofing purposes, the requests to purchase slideshows by nearly every single client has prompted me to find a way to offer them to you.   Well, I am nearly there.  The software is in place and I am fine tuning the program to make these shows something to cherish for many years to come.  Once I am ready to produce these, I will post all the information here on my blog.   I presume that these will be part of the portrait collections that I am currently working on and hope to announce them within the next 30 days. Hopefully these collections will make your choices simple…and with so many complex choices in life, simple is a good thing :)

oh, by the way, I really happen to like a good quote and they may pop up on here from time to time.  Until next time,

BRRRR….it is just downright cold outside here in Denver, Colorado!  We started the day off at -9 degrees and that is not windchill..yikes :)   We are having one of the worst winters in history and that can cause some problems with on-location photography….or can it?  Remember how we were always told to make lemonade out of lemons, and that attitude is everything?  Well, this most recent session is proof that if you think you can…then it CAN happen.

My client, Mr. D, and I met at a gorgeous local state park and lake.  It was in the low 30’s and snow was still completely covering everything.  I got to the location a few minutes early and was walking around to check things out.  As I was walking back up the hill to my car I quickly found myself up to my hips in snow!  I had stepped into an area that was a little deep!  We found that during the session, the bright snow posed a few problems…I had to be spot on with my exposure and Mr. D had to close his eyes occasionally to take a break from the extreme brightness.  However, the snow acted like one HUGE reflector and I loved that.  I was up for the brightness and snow challenge and my client completely got my style and we ended up with some FANTASTIC images.

Here are just of few of many that I would like to share…

I had such a hard time selecting my favorites.  Thank you Mr. D for making this session so much fun!  Welcome to the United States and best of luck to you on your new ventures!!!!!

I have now placed some examples of storyboards & collages in my creation gallery on my website.  These have been a HUGE hit along with the gorgeous session album and I just wanted to make sure you could see some examples.  I will be sure to add more here in the future.  The most common sizes are 10×20, 16×16 and 20×20.  I do offer more sizes, however, these seem to be the sizes of most interest.

Happy New Year!

01-07-2007

Happy New Year everyone!  And boy has it been a crazy new year to start off as we just got through blizzard #3 and we have now reached about 60" total in those three storms.  I have always said that we can get fantastic images even on days when there is snow, overcast or even a light drizzle of rain.  THIS amount of snow poses a bit of a problem for on-location photography :)   I love a good challenge though!

Many have asked if I will offer portrait collections in addition to a la carte pricing and the answer is "yes".  I am currently working on 3 different collections and pricing for them.  Collections allow you to visualize how you will arrange the portraits you purchase and help to make the choices a little easier.  I am trying to have 2 of the collections with the beautiful session album as that is a client favorite!

In addition to the collections, I will soon have up information about gallery wrapped canvas prints…and boy are they gorgeous!  Continue to check back often as I hope to get all of this completed here in the month of January.
