Ways To Go Green

04-22-2007

This is something way off the topic of portrait photography; however, it is fun to post things from time to time that are not related.  My kids are always hearing words such as ”reduce, reuse, recycle" or "global warming" and wonder what all of this means.  We are also now one of the many HUGE fans of "Planet Earth" on Discovery channel.  Wow, if you have not seen it, you must check it out as it is amazing!  When you become aware of all the changes that need to take place to make our planet healthy you are often left wondering what you can do.  As my oldest son will say when he sees the pollution cloud in our city, "mom, people need to stop driving cars and stop using factories because it is making our air brown!".  While I know that is not the solution, it is cute to hear him think on such a large scale :)   Well, on the right side of my blog I have posted a link to earth friendly light bulbs.  Have I switched my house yet?  Uhm, no.  I posted this in my blog to remind me that this is something I plan on doing this summer and just wanted to pass it along to any of you that might be interested.

I am nearly finished with my new portrait collections; however, I would like to hear from my clients, both current and future, about what would be your most sought after item.  So many of you have mentioned that the leather session albums and storyboards are huge hits and that they are a must have :)   I have also had many mention that the fine art canvas prints are so beautiful that it is another must have.  Ever since I have introduced the DVD slideshows, I am getting requests for a copy on every session.  So, here is where I would love to hear from all of you either via e-mail, phone or a post here on the blog as to what would be a perfect collection time and time again.  This would also be a great time to let me know if there is something that I am not currently offering that you would like to have added.  After all, these sessions are all about you right?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Where I have been….well, it is a combination of working on the business, being a mom and settling into our new location.  PLUS, a dreaded computer crash!!!  Yes, I thought I was immune to such a tragedy, but I was wrong.  At present, I am having a new hard drive put into my computer and then I will work oh so hard to make it as though nothing happened…yeah right!  Boy, you only have to have this happen once to really learn from it.  Always, and I mean, always back up everything that is of importance.  I was hoping to be actively posting on my blog by now, but time has simply gotten away from me.  Let’s just say that by late spring/early summer, I will be keeping the blog fresh with new and frequent posts :)

until next time,

~lisa
