I just can’t help but share good quotes now and again.  Much like I enjoy sharing links to cool websites.  Here are a few that I have enjoyed recently:

"A postive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." ~ Herm Albright

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." ~ Winston Churchill

"Reach for the stars, even if you have to stand on a cactus." ~ Susan Longacre

and finally….

"Inspiring quotes and phrases are like vitamins to the soul." ~ unknown

thanks for letting me share,

I love to see a story like this!  I wish all cities and towns were considered bicycle friendly.

ALEX C. HICKS JR. | Order a reprint
The League of American Bicyclists gave Spartanburg a bronze designation as a bicycle friendly community on Tuesday. Partners for Active Living had a goal three years ago to establish the city as a bicycle friendly community by 2007. Here, L-R, Ralph Paquin, of Spartanburg ; Mark Janes, of Greer; and Andrew Danfy, of Spartanburg prepare to start the ride.

The League of American Bicyclists presented the city of Spartanburg with a bronze designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community this morning. Spartanburg is the first city in the state to receive the designation and one of only seven across the United States to be named a Bicycling Friendly Community this year.

Partners for Active Living had the goal of receiving the designation this year when it began campaigning to make the city more conducive to bicycling in 2004. Since then, bike lanes have been marked along various roadways, bike racks are available downtown, a bike lending program has been initiated and educational programs aimed at educating the public about safe ways to bike are available.

The city received an honorable mention from the League last year.

Now, if we can just keep the dogs from chasing us while on our bikes!!!!

The Holiday Session

09-23-2007

The Holiday Session information is finally available!  Please view my website and look under "mini-sessions" for details.  Locations and dates will be announced this coming up week.  These sessions are not designed to subsitute a full session.  Mini-sessions will allow enough time to capture the unique personality of your family to use for both prints and holiday cards.  In case of inclement weather, rain dates will be available.  The deadline for ordering holiday cards is November 15th.  Stay tuned for the 2007 holiday card collection which will be shown on a slideshow and posted on my blog, just like last year.

What A Surprise!

09-23-2007

I have not posted on Better Photo in a really long time..I guess I just got busy with life and forgot about the images on there.  I took a look today and I see several that are Editors Pick..I got an instant smile.  Then I looked at the beautiful scenery and remembered just how gorgeous Colorado really is:)  So, I have decided to add a few to the gallery.

My gosh, this is why I love love love what I do!  I was lucky to shoot a wedding with Jen of Jen Lee Photography and what a beautiful wedding it was.  Thank you to the bride and groom and their families for allowing me to share these special evenings with you:)  The selection of colors and the decor was top notch.  The band just knocked my socks off!  There was a solo that made me stand still and I had goosebumps everywhere…then I realized "I have a job to do!"…so off I went shooting again.  To keep this from being a posting marathon, I will post a small handful of the many I loved.  Best to you J & J, I wish you only the best!!  (don’t forget that you can click on images to enlarge)

Alvin Catacutan you have been officially tagged :)   I look forward to reading your post!

~lisa

What a fun way to get to know more about me and I get to learn more about other photographers!  This is a "tag, your’e it!" game going on in the photographer’s community, and if you are tagged you are to list 8 things about yourself that other people may not know.  I was tagged by photographer Ana C. Frias in Pheonix, Arizona.  The link to her website is in her name, go check out her beautiful work!  Ok, so here goes:

1.  I used to climb roofs for a living!  Sound crazy?  I worked on a Disaster Team with State Farm Insurance for 9 years.  It was a life-changing experience.

2.  I am a 1980’s big hair band/glam rock nut and am finally ok with admitting it out loud:)

3.  I like to pedal my Specialized Ruby up hills to clear my head…unless I am being chased by a dog!!!

4.  I really enjoy red wine with very dark chocolate, especially dark chocolate with ground espresso..YUM.

5.  I have a slight addiction to magazines…I have to get my glossy fix often.

6.  I just might go for a full triathlon some time within the next 10 years.  I thought after a half ironman the answer was an emphatic NO, but I might reconsider.

7.  I have a math degree, yet really do need a calculator for the easy stuff :)

8.  My two sons have made me a much better person and I am always looking to improve to make sure I do the best I can at being their mom.

Well, thanks for reading and I think it is now my turn to tag someone else…stay tuned.
