I LOVE these things!  I stumbled across these super fun pencils when we were living in Denver.  I was thinking that the kids would find them to be the coolest….I think they were actually for me instead:)

But then, I came across the website for Smencils and found that they do fundraisers for schools.  Don’t get me wrong, I love getting my yearly fix of Sally Foster, but it is great to do something different AND help save the environment as well!!!  Smencils even do business promos…Can you tell I LUV these?  Go check out their colorful site and order some yummy smelling tree loving pencils.  I am going to mention this to the PTA at the school my kids go to!

I had the pleasure of working on a wedding with Brian of  Woodward + Rick Photographers recently and I wanted to share some of the images.  I will have more posted on my blog and in my galleries real soon…so, here is a sneak peak.  To see the images larger, simply click on the slideshow.  Oh, nevermind the holiday music…that is for the slideshow below featuring the holiday cards:)

What a gorgeous family and sweet sweet child:)  My clients drove all the way from Columbia the morning of the session.  We realized that after a good bit of time passed, that we were waiting for each other on the opposite sides of the park:) But, even with the delay in getting started, they were up for anything and were such a joy to work with!!!  There are so many favorites I have, so I am just picking out a small handful of one that make me smile…heck, they all do, but I cannot put the whole session on the blog.

Here are this year’s holiday cards and I LOVE them!  I hope you will find them as enjoyable.  I am keeping it to 10 cards this year to go along with my desire to keep things SIMPLE :)   If you click on the ‘view all images’, you can view them in much larger format.  The blog cuts off the ends of the virtual album, but when you go into it full screen it won’t happen.  Pricing for cards and holiday mini-sessions are on my website .  (placed slideshow at top of blog)

Late this summer I was contacted by New Beauty Magazine to work with them on a shoot for "The Expert’s Wives" section of their publication.  Of course I was excited to do this because I enjoy their magazine myself!  It was so much fun to work with Dr. Robert’s wife and I think her photos turned out wonderful…she looks simply stunning!  You can see the current issue on newstands or simply look at their website -

I can now say that I have found my look, logo, tagline and colors!  I feel that this logo is totally ME:)  I am getting rather impatient waiting for my new business cards and I think the UPS man is fully aware that I am wanting them NOW, and so he is taking his time.  hahaha.  Eva Talley is responsible for this fun look and I want to share her name often.  Should you ever need to give your business a fresh and fun new look,  drop her a line!!!  Here is the logo, but there are many ways I will be using to have variety while keeping the same look.

The Chicago Marathon has been on my mind the entire day as this would have been my third year as a Charity Athlete for the American Cancer Society.  I made the decision to back out of this year’s race in late July because of our move from Denver to Greenville and a hip injury.  It was upsetting that I was unable to participate in the triathlon and the marathon, but there is always next year.  So, I went to check the results tonight and I gasped at what I found.  The race was stopped early because of intense heat and humidity and people were suffering.  302 people went to the hospital and 1 died.  Here is the news.  I realized I cannot post here as it is copyright protected, but here is the link to the Tribune and the story.  My thoughts are with all of those affected.

I love finding cool sites and then sharing them.  A really cool yet useful site is Mabel’s Labels .   They have a great way to order labels for all sorts of kids stuff and they even have the clothing tag labels.  I can never get my writing small enough with a Sharpie to put a name on the tag, and if I do, it always washes off!  I am off to order my first set and will let you know what I think.

Another one is Simple Memory Art .  It has these super fun and colorful healthy food magnets.  They have what vitamins and minerals are in the food, the caloric content, fiber, fat and what a serving size is.  I think these would just be fun to use when hanging up school papers and other information on your fridge.  They also have awesome kids shower curtains.

Lastly, I like sites that have information about health and nutrition and has articles that are fun to read.  I really just like to read things from all different perspectives and then determine what is healthy for us as a family…not to really follow any strict guidelines.  Anyway, Prevention Magazine  came out with a GREAT site, I have just started to browse this colorful site.

Have a great day!
