I just got my new Candy and cosmetic bags in and I am in LOVE! I would also like to see the Candy with an image like this
This would allow the bag to be more like an ‘art bag’…I really like options:) I also put together a size comparison image to show you the difference in the Nicole v. the Candy. So many of you have commented on my Nicole and I love that bag, so this will show you the size of the Candy and the cosmetic. All the others range somewhere in between.
Candy stripe lining is so much FUN!!!!
My Gina Alexander catalogs are now ready, so drop me a line or give me a buzz and I will send you one via e-mail…trying to save a few trees by sending them this way
Hi Lisa!
It’s David Burke, from OneLight Atlanta. How are you? I hope all is going well for you. Are you going to WPPI? I am going to be there the 15th – 20th. I hope to see you there.
After I have a design up for awhile, I feel the need for change. So, I worked on changing the look of the blog with just a few small changes and I widened the columns. I would really like to hear from you if the new size is too wide for some screens….OR, if you like just seeing the name "Lisa" and not a bunch of goofy photos of me:) Either way, I have satisfied my need for a little change and I hope you like it!
I wish I would have taken the time to take the picture properly…meaning a tripod. But I decided to be stubborn and believe that I can hand hold the camera without any shake…WRONG! I did get one decent image. I hope you had a chance to see it tonight
For those of you that saw my most recent newsletters, you will find that you remember these cute little plastic monkeys that are full of expression! Have a stressful day? Play some silly games with monkeys and dinosaurs and laughs are sure to follow!!! I needed a break from editing recent sessions and so my boys and I decided to have a little fun
Meet the monkeys…
…and monkeys, meet the dinosaurs!
Just when they get a little too sure of themselves…
Chomp!!!! Moms, if your boys love dinosaurs make sure to check out the ones by Carnegie, they are AWESOME. The big ones are a little pricey but they last forever and are just really cool. "It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all." ~Laura Ingalls Wilder
Ok, on a business note, I now have finished my catalog for the Gina Alexander bags and the photo jewelry. Drop me a quick e-mail and I will send you a .pdf file that has all the information you need to make choices. Problem is…there are so many great ones to choose from that a decision may be tough to reach!
Stay tuned for a canvas special coming in March!!!

Lifestyle photography is actually not so new. As you can see from this gorgeous video featuring Gordon Parks, it has been around for a very long time! Lifestyle photography captures LIFE. When done right, you can feel the emotions, hear the sounds and touch the textures. It will also force you to use your imagination simply by wondering what was going on during that laugh or deep gaze. Enjoy this beautiful video and the music is quite amazing as well.
Isn’t it funny what a little bit of spring fever will do? I remember being in college in Illinois and we were all dreadfully tired of winter. Then comes a few days of sun and slight warmth and everyone had renewed energy and campus came to life. Well, we had a few sunny days with temperatures in the 60’s and the kids and I developed our own spring fever. We got home from school, got some grape juice, apples and Goldfish and sat out on the deck. My youngest decided that he wanted to play photographer. So he set off to take pictures of everything. SOMEHOW they got the crazy idea to put clothespins in my hair and on my earrings. Here is what my 7 year old took photos of…ME covered in clothespins.
Not too shabby for a 7 year old with a big SLR camera! A little sun flare but I thought they came out great and so I wanted to share. I soon asked to have the clothespins removed from my hair and it was quite a painful experience…so we started a crazy game of hide and go seek. The next photo was my 8 year old saying "you can’t catch me!" and the photo of that reminds me of "Here’s Johnny!" from the Shining. Too funny.
The point of this? Remember to find the beauty in the simple things. An afternoon sitting on the deck with my kids having clothespins put in my hair and a great game of hide-n-seek. We laughed and burned some energy and found a funny but great way to connect.
Looking for fun clothing ideas for kids? I am absolutely in LOVE with Mini Boden’s line of clothes. I have yet to try the Boden line for adults, but I am sure it is just as wonderful. The great thing about Mini Boden is that the clothes are uber stylish, very well made yet really affordable!! I have been buying their clothes for my boys for a long time and I must say they last and last. Anyway, here are some creative outfit ideas if you are ever wondering what to wear for that next photo session or just for FUN.

My 7 year old jumped out of bed at 7:15 am today rubbing his eyes begging me to turn on the news?! He said “It’s Groundhog Day and we have to see if Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow!” My first thought was he woke up in the middle of a dream and I smiled and just told him to go back to bed. Well, we ended up turning on the tv and lo and behold within 5 minutes of the news being on, they mentioned Groundhog Day!!! I even learned that there is a Groundhog Club in Punxsutawney, PA.
And the prediction? SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER! He saw his shadow And YOUR guess?
