A beautiful little girl, a gorgeous location and some ‘play time’ made for some great images!  We walked down paths, up hills and along the water for a good long while and had so much fun.  I wanted to share a few of my favorites.  This first one would be stunning on a big canvas;)

  • I can’t believe there are no comments for this shoot yet! These photos are soo beautiful! You make me want a little girl! (Ill keep the wife away – she is clucky enough as it is!) I love number 2 and 3 but I most love the last one for its fun – great idea using balloons!

I found some great ideas for wedding and bridal dresses at the Nordstrom Wedding Shop online and thought I would share a few.

A simple yet beautiful dress by Nicole Miller is always a good choice and would fit most body types.

Love the neckline on this Calvin Klein chiffon gown!  Pretty in pink ;)

Ok, I know that it may not be practical for everyone but I LOVE how playful this one is while still very tasteful.  However, there may be a small problem keeping it up on top.  Get out the two-sided tape for this As You Wish dress.  It also comes in white and is beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by.

I was honored to be a guest on the blog for Carolina Bella.  It was fun to share a little about my business as well as giving some general tips on taking better everyday family photos.  Amy McWatty’s blog has really grown from the initial post and I am certain it will continue.  Congratulations Amy on a blog well done!

Today was a really good day, I got back on the bike again for the first time in a good long while.  I have still been running and strength training, but no cycling.  After two big moves in 13 months the bike was simply put on the back burner and collected a little dust.  Well no longer!  I rode today and while I didn’t quite feel like I could climb any mountain, I did LOVE taking in all the sights and enjoying some time for quiet thoughts.  As I rode through gorgeous countryside, I kept making mental notes of great photo session locations!  What made the ride even better??? NO DOGS running at warp speed towards me!  For anyone that has been with me on rides knows that I freak out when I get chased while on the bike…it’s almost comical to anyone but ME:)
Another reason why today was great…Metromint has come out with a new flavor..Chocolate Mint!!!!  I couldn’t wait to give it a try and I simply love it!
Metromintchocolate   My two favorite flavors together in a sugar and preservative-free water.  My all time favorite is the good ol’ Peppermint.
Peppermint

I wish this stuff wasn’t SO good!

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by.

My recent bride had such an amazing dress with great button detail on the back and topped it off with a birdcage veil that was THE perfect fit for her!  I wanted to make sure we had a good mix of urban, old world and countryside looks for her session and I wanted to share just a few..

I am so excited for a wedding I will be shooting in Chicago this fall!!!  My client wanted me to see her dress and directed me to a website that I cannot visit enough.  Jenny Yoo.  Her designs are spectacular!  She takes simple to a new level and I just had to share.

These are gorgeous options for bridesmaids, I love the color!  Be sure to check out her fabulous wedding dress designs in her collections.

How about this fun site.  The Ladybug Collection  for flower girl and junior maids dresses?

I am finally getting caught up after several sessions in a row and the Southern Kids Fest weekend.  I wanted to make sure that I got the images to Upstate Parent Magazine in time for a thank you ad they were running, but I also wanted to share a few here as well.  I know I have said this before, but it was a super fun weekend!

With over 280 images it is hard to just pull a handful, but posting them all would be too much in a blog post :)   I will have them up in a gallery within a few days for those of you asking to see more.
Have a super night!

Southern Kids Fest

04-16-2008

I can’t believe it is Wednesday already!  It feels like I just took down my booth at the Kids Fest on Sunday.  The event was a blast and a big success.  So many kids and families showed up…both days there was a line at the door to get in as soon as it opened ;)   Thank you to all of you that stopped by and browsed through my booth.  For those of you that registered to win a free mini-session, I will be announcing the winner on Friday!!

In addition to having a booth, I took pictures for Upstate Parent magazine and will be sharing those real soon.  I could not have made it through the weekend without the help of Sheila, a VERY generous client who is now a friend.  Sheila, you are awesome and I cannot tell you how much it meant to me to have you at my booth meeting everyone that stopped by when I had to go out to a bridal session or take the pictures of the event.  I owe you BIG TIME!  I also wanted to say thanks to Lori with Entertainment Publications for your creative ideas on my booth, what a difference it made to have your input;)

Have a super day and I will be back with recent sessions, images from the weekend and of course the winner of the mini-session.

Honor The Dress!

04-09-2008

Ok, so I just CANNOT STAND IT any longer!  I am just dying to share some images from my recent session.  I have a lot more to edit, but in the meantime I wanted to share what I am so excited about.  My client wanted to do a session with her dress now that the wedding has now passed and I jumped at the opportunity!  I really wanted to do a "Honor The Dress" session and capture the beauty of her in it.  So off we set and had a total blast.  I even lost my flip flop in the water and the currents quickly took it downstream, but this super sweet boy JUMPED IN to save the shoe ;)   He was soaking wet and I just had to give him a hug for doing such a sweet thing for someone he didn’t even know.  Here are just a small handful…

  • Lisa,
How can I thank you for capturing such timeless photos? I had a bridal session before my wedding which I absolutely loved, but I must admit, these photos are in a class above in terms of creativity, variety, glamour and photoart. (Huge compliment to you when you consider what a devoted fan I am of our wedding photog.) I don’t even consider myself to be very photogenic but these photos are stunning. I’m thrilled we had the oppurtunity to do this type of bridal session and cannot wait to see the rest of the images. There’s no doubt in my mind, every bride should take the chance to be creative and have this experience in the most beautiful dress she may ever own. With a photographer as skilled and willing as you, the artistic possibilities are endless. Thank you again so much for this experience! (P.S. Husband is going to fall out of his chair when he sees these.)
