I am currently working on an exciting new blog that will combine both my portrait and wedding blogs…I cannot WAIT to launch this new look!!  I am finding I am up late working on this (it is now 12:45 and I have to be up by 6 am!) but I am so anxious to see the final look.  I will also have a new URL for this blog and will announce when all is finished.  I am having to learn as I go, so the process hasn’t been uber fast, but as soon as I finish I will be a bloggin’ gal again ;)

Thank you for your patience.

I am a sucker for these sorts of things and these favor boxes are beautiful and have so many uses!  These beauties are from Papeterie online and they come in 33 colors!
These would be great for jelly beans or bits of yummy dark chocolate!

Or if you are in the earth-friendly mood, how about these for a packet of seeds?

Use your imagination as these have huge options!

Happy planning!

LOVE this album!

Photographers have two choices when it comes to making wedding books for their clients.  The first choice is to outsource and let someone else do the work, or the other choice is to do it themselves.  Well, I have decided I want to do them myself but I can’t spend days working on one.  There are great software choices out there and I have settled in on Album DS.  I am now able to fully enjoy the book making process and even get more creative because I am having fun!  Here is a recent one I wanted to share.  These are the full page spreads showing as if the book was open and lying flat.

Here is the front cover and it wraps to the back.  So, the logo is on the back side of the book.

My recent client and I have a couple things in common, a love for triathlons and Colorado!  My triathlons have been placed on hold due to several moves and starting my business over again after moving back to South Carolina.  I still train and am looking to get back into triathlons this summer.  Miss "T" just moved here from Boulder, Colorado and is working towards being a pro triathlete, so in order to get her website going she needed images of her doing what she loves.  I wanted to share a few and will add more when we do shots in her wetsuit, which will be a blast because I have so many ideas!

I am SO proud of my little sister tonight!  She is going through graduation ceremonies in Chicago to receive her second Master’s degree and completed her time as a student teacher.  Sarah received some amazing news…she was selected as the winner of the 2007-2008 Woods-Lindley Prize for excellence in student teaching and mentorship!!!  The give one out a year and she got it!  Way to go Sarah!!!  The Woods-Lindley Prize is selected by the University of Illinois Chicago English Education Program.  Here is a photo of her at the awards banquet with the Associate Professor/Director of English Teacher Education at UIC.

Also, here is the article about her big day!
I wish I could have been there tonight with her so I thought I would share her exciting news and just say "way to go!" in my own way;)

Thanks for stopping by,

One of my brides is getting married this month and her flower of choice was the calla lily.  I found an amazing wedding favor to compliment this beautiful flower and it is from the Cheers Favor Company.  Check their website out for great ideas.

Wine_stopper_3

Aren’t these wine toppers awesome?  Oh, I also found a website that has great bouquet ideas and it is from Budget-Bride.  Look at some of these.

If so, then there is an amazing website that offers practice testing that is really great!  The joining fee is $49 but SO worth it!!!  The website is Study Island and you can select your state to make sure that the testing questions are tailored to suit your area.  Here is their website.  You can select the amount of questions for each lesson which is nice!  I just wanted to share this great study tool.

Have a great day;)

The Costco on Woodruff Road in Greenville, SC had their first car show last Sunday for people to showcase their passion and to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.  I was asked to cover the event for them and I was more than happy.  The weather was a bit of a worry but everyone proceeded forward as planned.  Just as people were showing and placing their cars in position and wiping them down, the sky opened up and rain started to fall.  Well I must say that it was an experience we will not soon forget!!!  The rain got VERY heavy, the wind was intense and then a few lightning strikes were MUCH closer than I would have liked!  So we were all huddling under the tents protecting our materials and gear and as the wind got crazy we all were holding the tents so that they wouldn’t blow away and then one super close lighting crack and we all just decided it best to let go :)   Nothing like holding onto metal near lighting right?  Just when we thought the lighting was over…down came the HAIL of all things!  Needless to say the car show didn’t take off like planned due to the fact that Mother Nature had other plans for the day, but we all had such a blast and I wanted to share a few images of the day.
