Megan + Alex | the engagement session

Engagement sessions are a time to have a lot of fun. It’s a time to laugh, be silly, be serious, hug, smooch, hold hands and simply enjoy each other’s company while we get awesome photos that show the love you share. The more I do engagement sessions the more I love them…and even after 8 years, it is still a blast. There is an energy that two people share who are ready to start their lives together and it just makes for really special moments and great company. Spending the afternoon with Megan & Alex was a lot of fun. I chatted with them about what they are doing in their careers and where they are going, about sporting events that they have participated in and which ones are coming up. We talked wedding details and about how insanely hot it has been as we wiped the sweat off our foreheads. But the cool thing ( <----my attempt at being silly) was that we got to know each other a bit more while I captured their love with each click of my camera. Megan & Alex...I cannot WAIT for your big day and am honored to be your photographer :)

Jordan + Joseph | the engagement session

One of the questions I ask when scheduling an engagement session is if there is a location that is special to my bride & groom. Jordan had mentioned that she met her fiance’ at a church in Marion, SC while they were at a wedding. She had also mentioned that she LOVES the beach. Marion, SC is about 45 minutes from the beach, so it made sense to plan their session to include both. The good thing is that she didn’t have to choose 🙂

On the day of Jordan & Joseph’s session, I was packing the car and noticed the dark clouds. I didn’t think much of it until I was making the drive to Marion. It was raining most of the way and normally I would call to say we should consider rescheduling. Well..something made me hold off. Thank goodness I did because about 30-40 minutes from the destination, the skies turned blue and there was not a single dark cloud. WHEW! Yes, it was sunny at 95 degrees…but we were about to have a lot of fun! Marion Presbyterian Church is so darned cute!! It’s an historical landmark and was a fun place to start. And speaking of start…this is where my awesome couple got their start. We then made our way toward the beach and the fun continued. We walked, talked, laughed and took pictures in every single spot that I saw beautiful light.
