It is now 10 days away from Christmas and I am sure many of you are rushing around from place to place doing some last minute shopping or possibly even just starting to shop. There are a lot of school activities, corporate parties, parties with friends, plans for travel, and just plain craziness with everything going on at once. But this is meant to be a fun time of year so be sure to take time to relax and smell the roses…or shall I say PEPPERMINT!!! I must say that I was thrilled to bits when I walked into our new REI store here in Greenville and saw that the Cliff bar and GU now comes in Peppermint Stick. WOAH! I bought several and then paused to ask the lady at the checkout counter “what if I don’t like it?”. She assured me that they will take them back to exchange for another flavor if I don’t. I have been passionate about peppermint since I can remember. Actually three things…peppermint, vanilla and cocoa. Those three smells and tastes get all my senses going. I am not too much into floral, but that is only because I have the nose of a dog and my sniffer is very sensitive to smells, so florals give me a bit of a headache. This is the time of year where peppermint is all around. Many of us pine for that Peppermint Mocha or Latte to come out at Starbucks and Yankee Candle has their holiday scent “Jack Frost” that is fabulous. Jack Frost is a blend of peppermint and vanilla and makes your home smell so yummy…almost too yummy.

And then we have peppermint lotions, lip balms, peppermint bark, peppermint cake balls..oh and who can forget candy canes?? Is there something out there for the peppermint addict – peppermint anonymous? Peppermint isn’t all about taste and smell, it actually has several health benefits. There are even benefits for athletes. Peppermint oil is very helpful in digestion, can offer some relief to those with IBS, helps with headaches and stress, and has a cooling effect on the skin which is good for so many things such as sore feet from all that shopping OR running!! I recently stumbled across something from Peak Performance called the Sports Inhaler. It gives a pure peppermint boost and claims to improve speed, strength and endurance. Also claims to reduce fatigue by 25%…give me some of that!

OH and who can forget Peppermint Patty?

Well, I guess you get the idea. Peppermint is used in so many ways and loved by many. If you have any cool pepperminty stuff to share, please be sure to tell us 🙂 Meanwhile, have a super minty day!

Thanks for stopping by~

Last week was so exciting for me because the new blog went live and it exactly what I was after in terms of design, ease of social media sharing and better loading times…after all we hate to wait for anything anymore. Heck I don’t like waiting 2 minutes for the microwave to heat my water for tea. haha. This week Coffee Talk at the LCP blog is finally here.

Coffee Talk makes me think of people waking up with smiles, saying hello at cafe’s, sharing tidbits of life whether it be small talk or bits of very useful information. I think of friends, laughing, sharing, oh and..coffee. Not everyone drinks coffee, some have tea or soda, but most of us enjoy sitting around and talking with others or even sitting at our computers and chatting on Facebook. Either way, we all like finding and sharing information which is exactly why Google was formed. Photography has been a passion of mine since I can remember and I guess that is a really good thing since I do this for a living, but I also enjoy flipping through magazines, searching the web and even spending time on that bloody fabulous website called Pinterest! And yes, the LCP blog now has a ‘pin it’ tab. Wahoo! In that time spent searching it is fun to find tips and advice on health topics, nutrition, fitness, beauty, fashion or just plain funny stuff. It isn’t wasted time because in those searches I find inspiration for many things ranging from my business to family life. Part of the enjoyment is sharing what is found especially if I think it can be of interest to others. Wedding Wednesday was started and has since been on hiatus because I found that I didn’t just want to post tips on all things weddings. I wanted to share other things as well. Over the last year I noticed that I was getting more and more questions from other photographers, clients or a Facebook friend asking things such as how to pose clients, finding the beautiful light to shoot in, what camera is best for someone starting out as well as questions about things that were posted about fashion finds, beauty & health tips, etc. By NO means do I profess to be a health and fitness expert, it is just another interest and passion. Recently a reader saw the posts and slideshows from the Challenge to Conquer Cancer Ride to Austin that we did this October and he asked if I allowed guest posts. My answer was ‘absolutely’! This guest post will have great information about the importance of fitness while going through cancer treatments. Cannot wait to share his information.

If you have something that you would like to see discussed or shared, please leave a comment or even click on the “Ask Me Anything” tab to the left. This is meant to be a fun addition to the images posted from weddings and other shoots and is a way to form a fun community of sharers. (Is that a word?) haha. So let’s start spillin’ the beans one post, or should I say, one cup at a time. Ok, that was cheesy I know.

I need to go back to Italy just to take pictures of their beautiful espresso and cappuccino presentations!

Thank you for stopping by!
