There are a few things for certain that will happen while doing an on-location baby shoot. The first thing is that while the baby is all comfy and warm since we have to turn the heat up…mom, dad and myself are all really hot, so I really should show up in workout gear. haha. The next thing is that furniture will most likely be rearranged several times to make sure we get near great natural light. And last but not least, one or all of us will get wet at some point when the sweet naked baby shots will be taken. This is the one time in life that capturing cute leg, belly and chin rolls on film is a must! Oh and did I leave off the fact that the little ones will figure out that we are all trying to get him/her to sleep for sleeping shots and it just will not happen easily on the day of the session. All in all, I love newborn baby sessions because I get a chance to snuggle with a litte one and see two people that are very much in love still in awe at the newest addition to their family. Congratulations Ryan & Megan, baby Jackson is truly beautiful!

After a recent promo shoot for Demun Jones, we talked about the birth of his second daughter and decided we needed to set up a family shoot too. So a week later I set off on a 3 hour trek to Gray, Georgia and met the entire Jones family. We got amazing shots and you would never know what went on behind the scenes…a lot of consoling and cuddling because Jessica was teething and Lyric would not fall back asleep to get those sweet sleeping baby shots. Patience is key. After walking around, cuddling, rocking, feeding, rubbing backs, talking quietly, and smiling, we got baby Lryic to close her little eyes and managed to get those precious photos.
