If there is one thing for sure, the new rules and guidelines for carry on bags really is a pain for a traveling photographer! It is just not an option to check my gear when boarding a plane and I found myself asking nicely…no begging the airlines to let my bag on the small plane with me and not below me with the other bags. Thank goodness they were nice enough to work with me 🙂 There was quite a temperature change from Greenville, South Carolina to Cincinnati, Ohio, but no worries because I was very excited to be there to shoot Sam & Una’s wedding with the amazing Kenny Kim! Kenny is a destination wedding photographer based in Chicago, Illinois and I was thrilled that we had the opportunity to work together again.

I met Sam & Una for the first time at their rehearsal dinner and was warmly welcomed by them both as well as their friends & family. After the wonderful dinner at Maggiano’s, it was time to rest and get everything ready for the big day. The night of the rehearsal dinner, Kenny educated me on various Korean wedding traditions so the day of the wedding I would be prepared. The day went along smoothly and the weather was perfect. It really was an amazing experience to see the various traditions and foods. Thank you Sam & Una for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I wish you both all the very best!

A bit of Brandon & Melissa’s story was shared when I blogged their first engagement session. I say first engagement session because they both wanted to do pictures in the Clemson stadium, but when the first e-session was scheduled the orange seats in the stadium were not out and those bright orange chairs make a big difference in photos 🙂 So we had part 1 & 2 for the engagement pictures, but it was just another opportunity for us all to have fun and get to know each other more. Melissa also had an amazing bridal shoot and I will finally get to share those photos now that Brandon has seen the dress. A separate post will be made for the Clemson & bridal pictures.

It really is great how these two crossed paths…they met at the Spinx Half Marathon after meeting through a running group and then Brandon saw Melissa’s picture on Facebook. They ended up planning to meet at the race but with so many people it made it really tough to find each other. So, Brandon waited for Melissa at the finish line, said hello and handed her her medal. How awesome is that?

Congratulations Brandon & Melissa!! I am so thrilled to have been a part of your wedding day and the events leading up to it. Your smiles make everyone around you smile and I wish you all the happiness for years to come! Thank you to my assistant photographer Leslie…you’re awesome 🙂
