There are times in which I do not get to meet face-to-face with a bride & groom prior to their big day…mostly in part to them being out of state. Well Brook + Richie live in Nashville but wanted to come back to the area and have their wedding in Clemson. But it didn’t take long to get to know both Brook & Richie and I was thrilled to be there to document the start of their lives together. Both of them were excited yet calm and were getting anxious for the First Look. But not before they exchanged their letters and Brook had a First Look with her father. Everything about the day was going along perfectly, including the weather. As soon as Brook & Richie said their “I Do’s” I just HAD to get them to the path leading to the green and water. The path had the most amazing golden light filtering through the trees and that is where we started. I think I must have told Brook how much I love birdcage veils about 50 times…but I do 🙂 It fit her classic look.

As the sun set, the temperatures dropped and the wind picked up. That didn’t stop anyone from having an awesome time at the reception, it just meant that it was time to bundle up and cuddle up. I am so happy for you both and am honored to have been a part of your day. I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Thank you to Katie Turner for ALL your hard work and creativity.

A wedding budget can get maxed out pretty quickly and easily. When you are close to that budget or have even gone over the limit you have set, there are decisions that have to be made on what you can and cannot live without. There are many times when a bride & groom have set aside a certain amount for a photographer or have gone over their limit in other areas, so they need to cut back on what they spend for photography. What that usually means is that the wedding album is something the couple may choose to not include. Trust me…I really do get the stress that one can feel when a budget is blown. This is exactly why I tell my clients that I am more than happy to allow them to come back up to one year later and purchase an album without an increase in cost. It makes a fabulous anniversary gift AND family members will often pitch in as a gift to the newly married couple. So…are albums worth it? The short answer is yes. It is how you will share, tell and preserve your love story.

Here is the long answer. Imagine this…your kids are all grown up and are ready to get married. During a family get together, you decide to share your own wedding day photos. That special day when there was nothing else but the two of you. Your photographs share a story of your big day. The both of you looking nervous but extremely happy, getting ready and looking your best, and you tell them about how the day progressed. The first look, the walk down the aisle, the tears of joy rolling down his cheeks, the first dance, the laughter and joy captured within the moments… your friends and family dancing along with not a worry in the world. The grand departure from the venue under the stars running through a tunnel of sparklers into your getaway car while everyone wishes you well…

Question: How do you see yourself telling this story?

Gathered around in front of a computer screen? Will DVD’s still work in newer computers? Is Facebook still around?
Gathered around a phone screen or tablet?
Or would you like to be able to pull out a professionally designed heirloom quality wedding album showing the day exactly as it unfolded.
Your story is too important to be archived in a digital domain never to be touched, appreciated or enjoyed in the company of your loved ones. The emotions felt when actually touching and holding your images in your hands are the closest thing you will feel next to actually being there.

It’s my responsibility to share with you options that can best fit your needs and budget as well as finding a professional lab that creates amazing albums to last a lifetime. I love that my lab takes care of me like I take care of my clients. Miller’s Lab is AH-mazing! They sent me cover samples in these way cool wood boxes with my logo on them and I just had to share them with you. This is the perfect way for me to sit down with my brides and grooms to show them how we can create an album that they will want to share and hold dear to their hearts.
