Michelle + Stosh {a proposal session} | engagement

I have been a full-time wedding photographer for almost 9 years. I still get the jitters the day of a wedding which is a good thing. It keeps me on my toes…keeps the creative juices flowing. It will be that way until I retire. Every session and every wedding is as unique as the people involved. BUT…lemme tell ya…I was beyond nervous about the proposal session for Michelle and Stosh. While I have known some of his family and Stosh and I are friends on Facebook, we have not met in person so I had to go off photos and a description of what he would be wearing that day. Stosh put SO much thought into how he would propose to Michelle and how we wanted everything to be simply perfect. He connected with me on several occasions prior to the ‘big’ day and it showed that this meant so much to him. I met with his mom the day before to go over how this would play out and where everyone needed to be. We discussed lighting and location. What Michelle did not know, other than she would be proposed to, is that her family had flown in from Illinois to witness this beautiful and emotional occasion. SO we had to find a place to hide everyone until she said yes. I look back and laugh a little because people in the park saw this photographer with a very long lens hiding in the bushes looking anxious. I can only imagine what they were thinking. haha. Twice I thought it was Michelle and Stosh coming around the bend and started shooting to only realize it wasn’t them. BUT…I knew exactly the moment they came into my view. I not only was capturing them from afar but could see Stosh and all his excited nervousness. When he got down on one knee my eyes welled up with tears. I’m shooting and wiping my eyes telling myself to get it together 🙂 Their moment was beautiful. Truly. And then….Michelle saw that her family was there. More tears..yes, many more tears. Stosh…WAY TO GO on picking such a gorgeous ring!!

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am for Michelle & Stosh. It was an honor to be a part of this incredible moment. Congratulations!!

Aubrey + Dain | the engagement session

While I was downtown at the Saturday Market and Artisphere, I met one of Dain’s very good friends. It was really awesome to hear that Dain’s friend is super excited about his engagement to Aubrey and to hear him talk about how much of an awesome couple they are. When I met up with Aubrey & Dain at the Old Cigar Warehouse, I could see exactly what he was talking about. Their energy together is really awesome! We also had a couple of extras on at the session. Sully & Jock. Sully & Jock are Dain’s Great Dane’s and are SO adorable! It was so much fun walking around to various locations and just getting to know each other a good bit. I cannot WAIT for their big day. Thank you Aubrey & Dain for making it a really great afternoon.
