Sometimes the weather gets in the way of a shoot and sometimes weather can make for an incredible shoot. This was attempt #2 for Arrington & Ben’s engagement session because the last time the skies decided to open up just prior to us meeting, so we put it off for a week. Then as I was pulling into Clemson I was wondering why the person behind me had on their windshield wipers.  Well guess what?  The rain clouds paid us a visit yet again AND just before the start time.  Thank goodness we waited it out because when the rain stopped we were left with a rather dramatic sky and allowed me to capture some beautiful silhouettes!!  Arrington & Ben had the best attitude about it all and we all had a great time.  I just want to know if Arrington will share her wardrobe with me.  haha.  She really has a great sense of fashion.  Thank you both for a fun time and I look forward to the bridal session and wedding day.

I see a difference in the stories that are told through photographs from the engagement session versus the photography from the wedding day.  The engagement session is a fabulous way to tell the story of how and when two people met, the fun things they like to do together, and capturing the moments they have shared at various locations.  Whereas the wedding day is a fabulous way to capture the love two people have for each other and the start of their newly joined lives.  Maybe not that cut and dry, but close.  Telling the story of how Ko & Grant met was definitely part of this fun engagement session in NYC…Manhattan to be exact.  We started the day off in Harlem where they met while attending NYU and ended by taking night shots in the beautiful Washington Square Park.  It was important to them both to incorporate places that are special to them into the session which included the beautiful historical brownstones, the buzz of the city streets, NYC cabs and cobblestone streets.  Basically the essence of New York City and the beautiful relationship between Ko & Grant.  I could have shot there for days!!  Thank you Ko & Grant for making the day so much fun.  Please enjoy a handful of images and the slideshow to follow.
