Often times you hear that a couple will meet in college or just after, but Dustin & Liz actually met in the 3rd grade! They were in classes next to each other and had the same recess. While Dustin & Liz met as kids, it wasn’t meant for them to ‘see’ each other in a different light until much later. The great thing is that they did meet up again and are now planning their wedding 🙂
The engagement session started out at a beautiful park in Greenville and ended in the downtown area. I actually smiled when Liz told me that Dustin does NOT like having his picture taken. I smiled because it is my true passion to make people feel comfortable, have fun and even enjoy the whole process. My hopes are that those feelings can be changed. The day of the shoot I had just flown back to Greenville after shooting a wedding in Cincinnati where it was VERY cold, so I was hoping that the South Carolina sun would bring us some warmth. Well, the day couldn’t have been prettier and we had many laughs along the way.

When Maggie & Tyson asked if they could do their engagement session in Charleston I said “Absolutely!”. Any excuse to see the beauty of the area and smell the salty air works for me. Maggie then mentioned that she wanted to bring her dogs and once again I said “Absolutely 🙂 “. I will often have clients ask if including their pets on a shoot is ok. I not only welcome it but encourage doing so…they are part of the family after all. We had originally planned to meet downtown Charleston but after thinking about it, the dogs would do better in a park setting and so the new meeting place was Daniel Island Park. Daniel Island Park is more than just a park, it is a feast for the senses. The views, sounds and smells are totally Charleston…beautiful!
