The Chicago Marathon has been on my mind the entire day as this would have been my third year as a Charity Athlete for the American Cancer Society.  I made the decision to back out of this year’s race in late July because of our move from Denver to Greenville and a hip injury.  It was upsetting that I was unable to participate in the triathlon and the marathon, but there is always next year.  So, I went to check the results tonight and I gasped at what I found.  The race was stopped early because of intense heat and humidity and people were suffering.  302 people went to the hospital and 1 died.  Here is the news.  I realized I cannot post here as it is copyright protected, but here is the link to the Tribune and the story.  My thoughts are with all of those affected.
